Before submitting, authors should ensure that:
- The submission is original, not previously published, and not under consideration elsewhere.
- The manuscript falls within the journal's Focus & Scope.
- An abstract and appropriate keywords are included.
File format. Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word or PDF format.
Manuscript structure. A typical research article should include: title; abstract; keywords; introduction; methods/methodology; results; discussion; conclusion; declarations (funding, conflicts of interest, data availability); and references.
Referencing style. All references must follow IEEE citation style — numbered in square brackets in order of appearance in the text (e.g. [1], [2]), with a correspondingly numbered reference list.
Article types. Research Articles — original research presenting significant, novel results. Review Articles — comprehensive, critical surveys of the state of the art. Short Communications — concise reports of significant preliminary findings or novel methods.
Declarations. Authors must include statements on funding, competing interests, data availability, and (where applicable) the use of AI-based tools.
By submitting, authors confirm their agreement with the journal's policies, including its ethics and open-access policies.

Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in Microsoft Word or PDF format.
- References follow IEEE citation style (numbered, in order of appearance).
- The manuscript is formatted consistently and legibly (recommended: 12-point font, 1.5 or double line spacing for review), with illustrations, figures and tables clearly captioned.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
- The author has read and agrees to the journal's ethics and open-access policies.
Research Articles
Original research presenting significant and novel results in intelligent computing, artificial intelligence, scientific machine learning, or advanced computational methods applied to energy systems and environmental science.
Review Articles
Comprehensive, critical reviews surveying the state of the art in topics within the journal's scope.
Short Communications
Concise reports of significant preliminary findings, novel methods, or focused results that warrant rapid publication. Short Communications are peer-reviewed and should present a complete, self-contained contribution in brief form.
